Steve Drury- Vice President

As Vice President of Hands for Peacemaking Foundation, I have had the privilege of traveling to Guatemala many times to work alongside the communities we serve. Seeing firsthand how improved cookstoves can reduce smoke exposure, conserve fuel, and improve the daily lives of families has strengthened my commitment to the Foundation's mission of sustainable community development.

I hold a degree in Chemical Engineering and have found the design and continual improvement of efficient cookstoves to be technically challenging. Applying engineering principles to create affordable, durable stoves that improve health and quality of life is an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Now retired, I enjoy my time and experience in advancing the Foundation's Guatemala initiative of providing clean burning stoves, skills training, water security and education. My wife along with our youngest daughter have also traveled to Guatemala in support of the project, making this work a shared family commitment. I am grateful to be part of a team working to bring practical, lasting solutions to families throughout the region.
