Welcome New Board Member: Lynn Cruz
Bringing community leadership, long-standing support, and a passion for service to HFPM
It is with genuine joy and gratitude that we welcome Lynn Cruz to the Hands for Peacemaking Foundation board. Lynn’s warmth, generosity, and deep commitment to service have already made a meaningful impression on our HFPM community. Her heart for the people of Guatemala, combined with her experience in community relations and her long-standing support of our mission, will be a tremendous gift as we continue this important work together.
I am incredibly excited to officially join the Hands for Peacemaking Foundation board. Having been involved with HFPM for the past three years, I have truly fallen in love with the mission and look forward to helping the organization grow.
For a little background: I grew up in Honolulu and moved to Issaquah, Washington, 30 years ago. In 2024, I retired from Costco Wholesale as a Community Relations Manager, where my department oversaw financial grants and community programs. I first learned about HFPM through inquiries about our Employee Giving program.
Intrigued by the work, my husband and I joined Brian Dirks’ team on a trip to Guatemala in May 2024. I was immediately hooked and returned in both 2025 and 2026. Guatemala is an incredible country, and I truly enjoy working alongside its wonderful people.
On a personal note, when I'm not volunteering, I love spending time with my family, going to the gym, and keeping up with my two dogs.
