Welcoming Greg Dirks to the Board of Directors

We are delighted to welcome Greg to the Hands for Peacemaking Board of Directors. Greg is excited to join the board, following in the footsteps of his twin brother Brian, past President, and brother Tom, Secretary. He looks forward to helping the board with facility and team expansion as we work to accelerate our greater mission to the Mayan villagers in the Barillas Municipality.

His passion for the work of Hands for Peacemaking has led to five mission trips, including as a team leader for two stove projects and co-leader for the Spring 2026 water project in Blanca Flor. He is currently organizing a sixth trip for Spring, 2027.

Greg serves as the International Services Chair of the Rotary Club of West Seattle and was the past Council (Board) Chair of Fauntleroy Church, UCC. He also sits on the West Seattle Rotary Foundation Board and is on the Board of the Phi Sigma Kappa Housing Authority at the University of Washington.

Greg retired from the telecommunications industry as a Global Account Manager. His primary responsibilities included leading the sales effort to provide fiber optic cables between data centers to corporations such as Microsoft. He worked directly for Microsoft for several years developing strategic business partnerships within the telecommunications sector.

You can also find Greg on stage playing the trumpet for the West Seattle Big Band and singing tenor in the church choir. He also enjoys kayaking, hiking, skiing, extensive travel, and spending time with his wife, Nancy, and their three adult children.
